Zara – a fashion story!

Back in November last year I was asked by a friend of mine to take some shots of her fabulous clothes for a competition Zara was running.

The competition is called People and it’s in second run at the moment.

In essence, participants need to submit an image of themselves wearing 2 or more Zara items from the current season. Cash reward for the winners!

I jumped at the proposal as I’m a complete fashion victim and Zara is probably my favourite high-street label.

Plus, knowing Ciara and her fantastic sense of style, I knew I was in for a great day of fantastic clothes and accessories. And! I got to shoot her beautiful Nissan Figaro – also a favourite of mine:)

Doing the shoot alone was enough to make me happy but when a couple of days later she called me to tell me that she had won, I could hardly contain excitement. I must admit I felt very proud seeing my image on the Zara website and Ciara looked nothing but her usual stunning and fashionable self!

Months & Months on, I finally get to post some of the images from the day:)

I ♥ Fashion & I ♥ Zara (PS – I am not SPONSORED by Zara LOL)

Furniture by Paddy Maher Design – my new space ♥

I haven’t updated my blog in ages which was not due to lack of inspiration, photography or time but actually mainly due to the fact that in the last 4 months I have been renovating my house & finally creating a space where I can work on my photography and my creativity without feeling cramped.

Helping me along the way in the process has been Paddy, a very talented furniture designer who works mainly with natural woods.

I must confess I was not a big fan of wood before meeting him but his work has completely changed my view on this & I am now very lucky to be surrounded by some of his beautiful work.

Here are some shots from my new studio. Very obvious lack of photographs on my wall but these are soon to come!

Most importantly, the link to Paddy’s site: www.patrickmaherdesigns.com

Avalanche

…You who wish to conquer pain,
you must learn what makes me kind;
the crumbs of love that you offer me,
they’re the crumbs I’ve left behind.
Your pain is no credential here,
it’s just the shadow, shadow of my wound.

I have begun to long for you,
I who have no greed;
I have begun to ask for you,
I who have no need.
You say you’ve gone away from me,
but I can feel you when you breathe…

Sarah & Gordon

Sarah & Gordon got married in beautiful Howth. Overlooking the stunning Dublin bay & with a lovely sunny wedding as back-drop.

Sarah had some of the most amazing bridal shoes I have ever seen! I couldn’t take enough shots of the shoes but had to limit what I published to cover my well known fetish for shoes.

Bridal attire aside, Sarah & Gordon had a beautifully romantic ceremony and their excitement and affection for each other was so evident throughout the whole day.

Wishing the happy couple a long and fulfilled like together, here are some captured moments from their special day.
